CAPA International Education

CAPA, an organization facilitating international study abroad programs in urban locations recently relocated their headquarters to Boston. FMA was engaged to assist in further understanding the potential of their current floorplate and how best to use available space within the building. Our first step was to provide space planning options to answer these pivotal questions.

To best meet the needs of this growing company, the decision was made to define the program and fit out an additional floor. In doing so, CAPA gained private offices, open workspace for their finance department, and a flexible collaboration area used to host workshops, small work-sessions, and company events that it so desperately needed.  These additional spaces allowed the company to better establish their Boston location as CAPA HQ.

The urban aesthetic aligned perfectly with CAPA’s ongoing branding initiative – coordinating their offices around the world. Working with a bold, contemporary palette, FMA was able to highlight the exposed architectural columns that march through the center of the space, accentuate the depth of the windows, and allude to CAPA’s triple ring logo in a subtle flooring detail. A complete furniture package was specified and procured, introducing texture through fabric and patterns as well as warmth through wood surfaces.
