UConn Residential Building Move

The two-family residential structure located at 4 Gilbert Road on the University of Connecticut Storrs campus was constructed circa 1920 and is a contributing structure to the campus Historic District.

The University has entered into an agreement with the Connecticut State Historic Preservation Office to rehabilitate and relocate the house structure to accommodate the construction of a new dormitory building on the site. This project will restore the original architectural character of the building while upgrading the building performance and modernizing the building for continued use into the future.

During the winter break, the building was successfully moved to a temporary site by Wolfe House & Building Movers, where it will wait for a future trip to its final location.
