MCCA Hynes Convention Center
Renovations and Upgrades
FM has been performing ongoing architectural services renovations at the Hynes Convention Center that included a $10M kitchen renovation project. Our team’s disciplined and collaborative approach has achieved the goal of ‘not one meal missed’ during construction. The project was carefully phased to avoid significant disruptions to ongoing daily food service operations during events. The upgrades focused on enhancing operational functionality, simplifying design, improving exhaust systems, increasing fire safety, reducing maintenance demands, and boosting overall energy efficiency. We have also designed upgrades to the Hynes mechanical control systems from pneumatic to digital (DDC) controls, which promises to significantly reduce energy usage throughout the Hynes. These projects are part of a Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA), On-Call Services contract.
