MCCA Boston Convention and Exhibition Center
Vertical Core Addition

Working with large institutions requires exploring solutions that often times have continually changing parameters and requirements. In our work with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, FM was tasked with finding a solution requiring a public path from between the Seaport District MBTA station and points north along the coastline, to the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center (BCEC). At which point the public path required a vertical connection into the BCEC main public lobby. After various designs studies the MCCA decided to take the minimum approach and tasked FM with reconfiguring an existing service lobby to provide the connection.
