The new Salem Ferry Terminal is designed as a permanent, resilient gateway for waterborne transportation, supporting both daily operations and long-term growth in regional tourism. The facility establishes a modern arrival and departure point while strengthening Salem’s connection to the waterfront.
The terminal integrates essential passenger services, including

creating a functional and welcoming experience for ferry users. Expanded operational capacity allows the terminal to accommodate current service demands while remaining adaptable for future routes and seasonal increases in ridership.
In addition to passenger operations, the building includes leasable office space with a focus on maritime-related tenants, reinforcing the terminal’s role as an active waterfront hub. Flexible training and event areas support industry programs and community use, extending the facility’s function beyond transportation alone. Dedicated security, IT, and operational infrastructure ensure reliable, efficient, and secure terminal operations.
